Had a fabulous weekend at one of my Dolphin’s cabin on Lake Limerick this past weekend.
For the third year in a row, Vanessa’s hosted a summertime cabin trip with all of our high school girl friends, our significant others if coupled, and other random friends that we’ve collected throughout the years. We all pitch in for food, she brings the keg since she works at Pyramid, and it’s usually one debaucherous weekend.
This year was the first year that the weather actually cooperated. Usually we’re stuck inside with grey skies and nothing but vodka to entertain us. The cabin is set on a private lakefront and there’s a boat, plenty of floaties, kayaks, a paddleboat, and private docks. So, when the weather’s nice, it tends to be a bit more fun. We spent Saturday recovering from our Pyramid Wheat Ale hangovers (not fun), in glorious 80-degree weather, wakeboarding, swimming, napping, reading and sunbathing. It was the first time that my delicate lady skin has felt the Seattle summer sunshine this year, and there’s nothing quite like it…
The weather was so warm that the shallow lake held bath-like water, which was perfect for a little skinny dipping on Saturday night. Ten of us or so decided to strip down to our birthday suits and jump in around midnight after the party pack of 20-plus liquor bottles was drank. I haven’t skinny dipped since I was probably 10 years old. It’s amazing. I wish everyone could just swim naked all the time. I mean, we’re prancing around in “bathing suits” that really don’t cover anything up more than bras and underwear, so why not just make it official? Europe's really onto something with all those nude beaches. America should get with the program.
My goal is to skinny dip at least two more times before the rain and fog rolls back in…

We go skinny dipping at Sandpoint/Magnusen Park on hot summer nights, you can grab fairly private little spots because it's so big. You just have to remember to park outside the park or have a big rig, we got locked in at midnight one time and had to drive around the gate through rocks and bushes... which was pretty awesome actually.
